Christian Nature of Williamson Christian College

Christian Philosophy of Education

The College believes that the Bible encourages Christians to acquire an education that will make it possible for them to functionally perform in a world that God has created and to serve in one or more Christian ministries. As our world grows more complex and our knowledge of it continues to expand, it becomes more important that we maintain our understanding of God's role within His world and that we transfer knowledge, perspective and skills about this complex creation from one generation to the next. The College serves as a channel through which students can master this transfer while having a ministry that contributes to the strengthening and expanding of the church.

Biblical Foundations of Faith Statement

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14; I John 2:22-23)
  • We believe in God the Father, Creator of all things out of nothing by the power of His Word, a loving God who is omniscient, omnipresent and sovereign. Controlling the course of history, He will hold all men accountable for their actions on this earth.
  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative Word of God. The Bible is truth without any mixture of error containing the historical record of God's dealings with man from the events in the Garden of Eden through the various covenants. His Word is salvation history finding fulfillment in (1) His choice of Israel as His chosen people and (2) especially in Jesus Christ and His church. (Psalm 119:105-108; II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)
  • We believe in the deity and the full humanityof our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal, bodily, and visible return in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14; 14:2-3; Luke 1:35; 24:1-48; Acts 1:9, 11; 2:22; Colossians 1:15; Hebrews 4:15; I Peter 2:24)
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God. Evil entered our world through Satan, a fallen angel, who remains active within our world as a tempter and accuser of men. He will finally come under the eternal judgment of God in that place where all those condemned with him shall exist in torment. Tempted by Satan in the Garden, man fell into sin marring the image of God. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary for salvation. Regeneration is possible only through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:27; 3:15; Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:10; 5:12; Titus 3:5; I Peter 1:18-19)
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and by Whom the Church is empowered to carry out Christ's Great Commission. (John 14:15-17; Acts 1:6-8; 13:2-4; Romans 8:14)
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:28-29; I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
